Judges at the Wine Show of Western Australia agreed that the State’s top wines this year were Cabernet Sauvignons produced by Houghton Wine Company.

Houghton took home eight trophies and eight gold medals at their home states wine show. These accolades include Best Wine of Show, Best Red of Show and Best Small Batch. The Houghton Wisdom Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 won the Singapore Airlines trophy for Best Wine of show, the Print Hall trophy for Best Red Wine of show as well as the Ian Tyrer trophy for best Cabernet Sauvignon. “A special mention goes to the Nannup crew who saw this through from grape to bottle. The trophy results are quite literally outstanding.  Additionally 30 of the 32 Houghton entries picked up a medal. These results fairly reflect the hard work and desire to constantly do better”, said Ross Pamment, Senior Winemaker Houghton.

The trophies won at this year’s show are an excellent addition to Houghton’s already incredible wine show awards success this year. We are proud and honoured to have achieved such an outstanding result. Congratulations to Ross and the rest of the Houghton’s team.
